Matthew 24:23-28
23 At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 "So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

Damon, Damon, Damon

It's not hard to believe in my humble opinion. If you worked at a company making 40K and another company offered you 52K and that company had good potential, you'd go. Carry the analogy further, from 400K to 520K, you'd make the switch. To raise your salary from $40 million to $52 million dollars when you are in your thirties, to seal your retirement money for the rest of your life. You'd do it as well.
I just have a hard time stomaching the comments like the one quoted in the Globe:
".....I think the leadoff role has been underappreciated over the years but I think with the teams that have won lately, Scott Podsednik this year, myself last year, Juan Pierre the year before, a good leadoff man is tough to find, and I think that New York just found the best leadoff hitter in the game."
Oy Vey. He and Michelle must have a king sized bed to have enough space to fit his enormous head.

Use Them And Lose Them
AP Photo
Remember the following she had? I'm talking about Cindy Sheehan. She had people following her around the country, because she was the latest media-created anti-war icon. I completely disagree with her methods and viewpoints on the war. I think that the things she has said, are utterly ridiculous and irresponsible..... However, I hope God blesses her soul. That woman has made the ultimate sacrifice. Her child was killed in action in defense of his country.
If the opponent of Cindy Sheehan had the courage to admit it, they'd tell you they'd never want to see their child die for any reason. I know, I know, many of her statements are pure propaganda, but she is far more justified than someone like Ted Kennedy. This woman is grieving. Ted Kennedy offers criticism but no solution. This woman's job is to grieve. Ted Kennedy's job is to help our country. His consistent anti-war, anti-U.S. anti-Bush tirades do nothing but demoralize the people asked to protect our country. John Kerry couldn't have changed the course of this war. But armchair quarterbacking is easy from the losing bench.
It's clear that her worth to the anti-war movement has run it's course. She no longer captures the media's eye like she did in the beginning. Suddenly, like a popular clique at school, she's left sitting where she began. A mom who lost her child and can't think of a good reason as to why that happened. Yet her "supporters" are no where to be found. Compare the photo above to the account of this article not too long ago.
She's no longer the cool kid. It's a shame, because now she's left by a movement that no longer cares about her, and is left grieving her loss alone.

Did You Know WDW Has An Airport?
A very cool (depends on how you define cool I guess) article was written about it by Jim Hill from Jim Hill Media. The airport was called the STOLport. This stands for Short Take Off and Landing.

Clinton Calls Impeachment Egregious Abuse
Morally, I have a problem with what Bill Clinton had done with Monica Lewinsky. Although I've never (and would never) cheat on my beautiful wife, I try not to judge other people on their indiscretions. We will all be judged one day from which there is no hiding. Having said that though, Clinton calling his impeachment "egregious abuse" is simply mind boggling. He was not impeached because he had sex with an intern. He was impeached, because he repeatedly lied under oath to a grand jury. Any President regardless of party should be held to the same, if not higher standard of the law.If you disagree, why?

This Is Why We Are All Going To Die

We're too busy figuring out how we can stun the people who want to kill us rather than killing them. To think that my tax-payer dollars are used to make a weapon that temporarily "dazzles" someone with a laser. Are you kidding me? I'm not a pessimist generally, but if we employ weapons like this, we will be overrun.
God help us.

You know: Whether You Are For Or Against The War...
I think you'd have to agree that Cindy Sheehan isn't doing much to convince swing voters. Swearing and name calling does not lend your cause credibility, it undermines it. Having Cindy Sheehan as the spokesperson for the anti-war movement is like having Howard Dean as the Chairman of the DNC. Your goal is to bring undecided people into your camp, not push away those people with empty rhetoric.

We are in trouble with illegal immigration. If you are reading this thinking I am worrying too much, or don't have time to consider this, you have your head in the sand. People have been pointing out illegal immigration problems for 20 years. It's coming to a head. Consider emergency services in a hurricane as one example. Your tax dollars pay for this kind of support. How far do you think it will go per person if there are 20% more people occupying an area than was forecasted. That is only one small relevant example out of hundreds. Right now, the so-called conservatives running our nation are ignoring it. It's the Democrats that have jumped on this one... triangulating I assume. And it is soley the fault of this President, administration and congress.

Everything Is A Conspiracy Now a' Days....
Can we give it a break already?!! No pun intended.Al Sharpton's driver was finally pulled over for speeding and failure to pull over. It should be said that I virtually disagree with almost everything he says, but for the love of Pete, you don't have to make excuses for everything! He is already denying it was a 9 mile chase. Wouldn't it have been refreshing if he had just said, "My driver was speeding to get me to the airport. It was a lapse in judgement" or something like that. Jeez, how tough would have that been? His "street cred" wouldn't have been ruined for that. Even African Americans speed, Al Sharpton!

Anyone Think We Have A Problem With Our Borders?
I have to say... I'm truly heart broken. In fact I can say I am borderline hopeless at the result of this judgment/settlement. In the end, it comes down to this: Illegal aliens are crossing into our country by the tens of thousands. Our President speaks of promises of amnesty. People can't protect or defend their land that these people are using to illegally enter our country, sometimes trafficking drugs. You now have two illegal aliens that have been awarded over 1 million dollars. Because of this, one of the accused has to forfeit his land to people breaking the law! If our government would protect our borders, this probably would have never happened. This is the exact reason I changed from Republican to unenrolled(formerly Independent). As I began, I am heart broken at the lack of logic that is used to run our once great country. You can read some of the coverage here

It's Official. I'm No Longer A Republican.....

Now for all of my liberal friends, don't get excited. I am still a conservative. I've researched Democrat Presidential candidates, and I still have been unable to find one that I would vote for over a Republican. My change of party is a direct result of this so-called conservative administration. Again sorry to disappoint the liberals, but this President is far from conservative. His spending has been out of control, we're nation-building when he promised we wouldn't in his 2000 campaign, and his lack of action on protecting our borders and sending an "illegal immigrant" invitation to Mexico with talks of Amnesty has only encouraged entry, not discourage it. That's just the President. The Republicans control congress yet they do not stand up to their Democrat counterparts. Nor do they use that control to make conservative changes in our legislation. I'm not talking about abortion by the way. I'm talking about cutting spending, reforming welfare to give a hand-up instead of a hand-out. The same Republicans who stand by and entertain all of the Democrat requests on information on Supreme court candidates. They are spineless. I can't be part of a party that acts that way. They speak of conservatism, but that's all it is. Just incessant speak. Now understand that one less Republican in Massachusetts is not a big deal as far as this blue state goes. But I will be writing a letter and calling the White House message line. I'll be letting them know, because of their inaction, they can count on one less guaranteed vote. Democrat or Republican make sure you are not voting for laundry.

I Think These People Are Going To Hell
I've done some crappy things in my life as far as my standards go. I made fun of people when I shouldn't have. There are times where I could have been a better person. For all I know, I could be going to hell. I have to confess though, what happens in the video clip here, has to be one of the most disgusting things I have seen. It would seem that these people have reserved a seat in hell for themselves. Although you can't really see detail, I wouldn't suggest your younger viewers watch this. It made my stomach turn.

Basically, Dan Brown researched for years a theory on what the holy grail actually is and why we haven't found it yet. He weaves this theory into a fictional story which has many compelling points. I suppose at the very core of it, I'm not doing Catholicism a service by recommending this book, but it's a great fictional book! I Know Enron Is Passe But......

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it
would now be worth $49.00.
With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.
With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.
But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago, drank all
the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you
would have had $214.00.
Based on the above, current investment advice is to drink heavily and
recycle.

Road Rage Over Bush/Cheney Bumper Sticker

Come on folks, let's get over it already. Can you seriously imagine yourself getting so upset over who someone voted for a candidate that you'd want to run them off the road? People have officially lost their marbles. Sure, I voted for George Bush, but could you consider hating me for it? If you are on the other side of the aisle, you can question me, and not identify with any of the reasons I voted for him, but getting that angry is crazy. People in both parties, have stooped to low levels. Keying cars, removing lawn signs. Ugggg. Let's grow up and have some intelligent discourse.

- I can watch old trip video tapes almost endlessly.
- My goal is to be able to travel to WDW at least once per year with my family.
I have issues. I know. See, I said it. There's a lot worse problems to have, isn't there?

Understand The Filibuster

Senator Kennedy, Byrd and others in the Senate are going to filibuster the up or down vote on President Bush's judge nominations. Now understand, the filibuster is used to stall the debate of legislation. In the past, this consisted of a Senator taking the floor and speaking until there was no more time to debate and vote on a particular issue.
Keep in mind, if the filibuster is not used, that allows normal debate and voting on legislation. It does not mean instant approval or denial of said legislation.
So if the minority Senators chose not to filibuster, the only thing that would happen is that they would be able to vote up or down on the nominees. This same tactic was used to block civil rights legislation for many years. It wasn't right then, and it's not right now.

Try This
A friend of mine sent this to me. At first, I thought this was funny. Then, not so much. For any of you PC'rs, sorry to offend any of your sensibilities.
- Enter Mexico illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.
- Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.
- Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.
- Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.
-Procreate abundantly. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behavior with, "It is a cultural United States thing. You would not
understand, pal."
- Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.
- Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do likewise.
- Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.
- Demand a local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.
- Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.
- Have a traffic accident without liability insurance.
Good luck! You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon dead. Because it will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in the world... Except right here... Land of the naive.

March Texas Hold'em Tourney At Crowell's

Saturday
March 26th
6:00 PM
Wow. We're already ready for a second tourney. I lost my shirt at Coco's, but it was a blast. The only bad part was that everyone went home except for DeCola, Baroo, myself and senor Coco. Let's try to make a better effort at Crowell's. Dan, you have no excuse, it's at your house. Maguire, it would be nice to see you more than an hour. You had a sick wife and child, so I understand you leaving from the last one. This one though, you get no passes. Alan and Couni were the big winners of the last tourney, so we'll have their legs broken on the way into Crowell's house for a handicap :-)
Email Dan if you need directions or have any questions, etc.

On A More Serious Note
Bibby asked me to post this. It's worth a read and a good topic to familiarize yourself with.

-------------
As you know, our country is getting older and many people are misdiagnosed as having Alzheimer's or just plain old age. Symptoms include difficulty walking, thinking clearly and an over all poor quality of life. New research has shown, some of these people could be suffering from NPH, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, which is fluid build up in the brain.
The below link is full of information regarding NPH as well as the story of Bob Fowler as seen on the Today show.
I feel very strongly about this because so many elderly are being diagnosed incorrectly and continue to suffer, along with their families. Some of these people probably have NPH, which is curable.
I am turning to all the people I know to get the word out for people to speak with their doctors about NPH and give these people their life back. I know my grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's and I was especially moved with the piece on Terrel Owen's grandmother during the super bowl.

Some Perspective
My sister sent this to me in an email. She didn't write it, but it's some nice words for us to help keep some perspective.
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours
in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the 2 cups of
coffee...
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in
front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and
empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked
the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor
then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the
jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the
jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous yes." The professor
then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire
contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the
sand.
The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter
subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf
balls are the important things-your God, family, your children, your health,
your friends, and your favorite passions your life would still be full. The
pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and
your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no
room for pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend
all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for
the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play
with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out
to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house
and fix the disposal."Take care of the golf balls first, the things that
really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to
show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for
a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Boink At BU.... A Double Standard

So Boston University is joining the litany of schools proliferating their so-called free speech. Forgive my harsh words if you are alumni, but allowing a pornographic magazine to be sold on Campus is a one-way street.
Now for you you emotional types, you could be thinking, "Craig, I may not agree with it, but under what law or statute should this be stopped?" or "Are you on some moral high-ground and think this should be removed for religious or moral reasons?"
Now, just to be clear, the pornography on it's face does not bother me. A moral question could be raised for students under the age of 18, but that's not my problem either.
Let me pose the following questions to you:
Let's look at the opposite side of the spectrum for a moment.
1. From what I read, this magazine was started by a young woman. What would have been the outcome of this if it had been a young man who started this eandevor? Be honest with yourself. Would it be "as-o.k.?" Do you think the magazine would have ever made it to the stands?
2. What would have happened if instead of a pornographic magazine, a religious magazine was published? How about a magazine that discussed pro-life opinions or abstinence?
Again, be honest with yourself. In today's ultra P.C. society, do you think that a magazine like that would have been allowed to be sold? Can you see the ACLU getting involved in an attempt to stop the distribution of that kind of a publication?
We both know what would happen. Although it has it's own separate arguments and ramifications, get beyond the fact that this is pornography for a moment. Is it o.k. for free speech to exist only if it fits politically correct criteria?
You can read the article on the topic here.

Texas Hold 'em Tourney This weekend

It should be a hoot. It's been a while since I was out for a night with the guys.
It could happen more, but I don't see my kids enough already. They're growing up so fast. I only have weekends and a couple of hours each night (which I'm thankful for).
So a bunch of us guys from college are getting together for cards this Saturday night. If you were left off of the list inadvertently, don't blame Coco, he's got a lot on his mind. Don't be a punk either and say, "Well, I wasn't invited...blah blah blah" Email him at j22c_2000@yahoo.com. He would like for everyone to be there.
And yes, I'll be taking pictures... When they'll get posted is another discussion :-)

Do you think Andy Reid choked?
As a long time Patriot's fan, I have to admit, I was happy and frustrated watching the Eagles fail to run the no huddle offense in the last five minutes of the Super Bowl. Let's face it. The Eagles played a heck of a game. We certainly could have played better, but it was a competitive game that could have been won by either team.
But what was Andy Reid thinking? In my opinion, only a small percentage of blame lay on McNabb. If his coach didn't send in the no huddle, then I can understand why McNabb didn't run it. However, McNabb, clearly the team leader, should have at least at a minimum been following his center's example and telling the team to hurry up to the line. It's inexcusable.

I would like to announce the Keith and Josie Martell had their baby girl the other day.
Her name is Adrianna. I think she was around 6.5 to 7 lbs. She is very cute and a little peanut.
Keith and Josie look very happy and Josie looks great!

Let the blogs begin......
Hey folks.
Sometimes "reinventing the wheel" just takes too long.
I started writing a blog in php about 8 months ago.
Guess what? Doing it properly takes lots of time.
As you know, having two kids and a night job doesn't provide for much of that.
So I came across blogger.com on Google's site today, so I'm giving it a try.
